Greece is a country in southeastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. The country has borders with Albania, the Republic of Macedonia and Bulgaria to the north, and Turkey to the east. The Aegean Sea lies to the east and south of mainland Greece, while the Ionian Sea lies to the west. Both parts of the Eastern Mediterranean basin feature a vast number of islands, islets and rock islands.

Greece Accommodation
Greece is one of the most popular tourist destinations worldwide.  Annually it welcomes more than 14 million tourists, a figure that places it in the 15th position on the World Tourism Organisation list of countries with inbound tourism (according to WTO data). Over the past decades Greece has witnessed the development of modern and multiform large or small-scale tourist infrastructures catering to the demands and accommodation requirements of every visitor.
Today Greece’s accommodation potential numbers 670,000 beds, distributed over 352,000 rooms in approximately 8,900 hotel units. Οn most of the Greek islands and mainland Greece, visitors can also find accommodation in private houses (rooms to let) which are operating under the special seal of the Greek National Tourism Organisation. Moreover, there are more than 340 campings all over the country, offering 30,000 camping spaces and 2,500 small houses.

Greece Transportation
The geographical location of Greece at the southern tip of Europe surrounded by sea, has made it one of the major hubs of shipping and transportation in the world, acting as a bridge between Europe, Africa and Asia. As a result, Greece is packed with highly-professional freight shipping, trucking and moving companies that offer a good selection of logistics services, including air cargo, maritime transport, vehicle and container shipping, packaging and moving.

Arahova is a stunning and picturesque town located in the cliffs of Mount Parnassos, Greece. With about 4,000 inhabitants, the name means ‘a place planted with walnut trees’. Arahova is close to the ancient towns of Delphi and Athens, which makes it a favoured tourist destination.
Kea is an island in the Cyclades Archipelago in the Aegean Sea in Greece. Its capital is Ioulis. Other major villages of Kea are Korissia, the port, and Vourkari, the fishing village.
The island has a hilly terrain and an arid climate. The weather is very mild and dry, especially in summers during which the temperature remains between 25°C and 30°C. Winters are temperate with temperatures rarely falling below 8°C. During spring, the whole island is covered with blooming flowers converting it into an island paradise.
Kos is the island of Hippocrates, the third largest in the Dodecanese after Rhodes and Karpathos, lying close to the Asia Minor coast, between Nisyros and Kalymnos. It is mostly a low-lying island, with a single mountain range on its eastern side. Its population is in excess of 20.000, most of whom are engaged in the tourist trade, stockbreeding, farming.
Crete, located in the East Mediterranean is the largest island in Greece. Around 650,000 inhabitants are housed in this picturesque place. Blessed with a scenic landscape, Crete blends the past and the present culture with much fervour and is also a popular tourist destination.Historically, Crete was a part of the Minoan civilization and its cultural heritage is evident in the various tombs and palaces which still exist. In recent times, agriculture, farming and tourism have been the main industries.

Greece Food
greeksaladRestaurant and taverna food tends to be very simple, rarely involving sauces but with full use of local olive oil and charcoal grills. However, Athens and some of the more fashionable islands such as Santorini and Mykonos have seen the arrival of fusion cuisine and so-called modern taverna fare. Hours are normally 1200-1500 for lunch and 2000-2400 for dinner. Opening hours vary according to the region and local laws. Waiter service is usual.

Shopping in Greece
Special purchases include lace, jewelry, metalwork, pottery, knitwear, rugs, leather goods, local wines and spirits. Athens is the center for luxury goods and local handicrafts. The Sunday morning flea market in Monastiraki, below the Acropolis, is crowded in high season. Regional specialties include silver from Ioannina, ceramics from Sifnos and Skopelos, embroidery and lace from Crete, the Ionian Islands, Rhodes and Skiros, alabaster from Crete and flokati rugs from the Epirus region.
