The Kingdom of Bahrain ‎, Mamlakat al-Baḥrayn, literally: Kingdom of the Two Seas) is an Arabic island country in the Persian Gulf ruled by the Al Khalifa royal family. Saudi Arabia lies to the west and is connected to Bahrain by the King Fahd Causeway, which officially opened on 25 November 1986. Qatar is to the southeast across the Gulf of Bahrain.

Bahrain accommodation
Hotels: Most accommodation in Bahrain is provided in hotels, classified from 1 to 5 stars.
Guest Houses/ Pensions: A guest house normally a house that lets out one or more bedrooms, some with ensuite or private facilities.
Youth Hostels: There are hundreds of youth hostels in Bahrain, offering very simple accommodation at very low prices. There are hostels in all major towns of Bahrain.
Camping: There are thousands of campsites throughout Bahrain.

Bahrain Transportation
Taxis are cheap and easy to find, and visitors generally use them a lot. Most taxis do not operate with a meter so ask someone beforehand what the fare should be and always settle on an amount before getting into the tax,Boat trips can take you to little islands for a picnic. There is a ferry service three times a day from Bahrain’s Ad-Dur Jetty to Hawar Island, 20km south-east of the main island, featuring steep cliffs and varied birdlife.There is a public bus service linking Manama and Muharraq island with other towns around the main island, but it isn’t geared towards visitors and doesn’t cover all bases so it’s easier to explore Manama and beyond by taxi.

7daabc8c22Manama ,is the capital of the island of Bahrain situated in the Persian Gulf. It has a population of about 150.000.
Manama is a very important centre for the economy thanks to the petroleum, oil refining, dhow buildings, fishing and pearl diving. The strong economy of the capital made it possible to increase the country’s major hotels, pubs, nightlife, beautiful shopping and most important tourist attractions. Manama is also very popular for its different markets where people sell their goods. Manama has an international airport on the island of Al Muharraq, which can be reached by a causeway. Further also the University of Bahrain is located in Manama, it was founded on 1986.
Manama is an Arab city with a rather westernized and modern attitude.
Hoora ,is a district in the northern city of Manama, which is the capital of the flat and sandy archipelago of Bahrain. It is locally called the ‘Heart of Bahrain’ and has most of the bars and restaurants of the city.
Sitra, or Sitrah, is a small island city located in the north-eastern region of Bahrain. It is part of the 33 islands that make up one of the smallest nations in the Arab world. Sitra is linked to the Bahraini capital Manama in the north by the Sitra Causeway, which provides for an average of 6,000 cars per hour. The island consists of the main centre called Sitrah and three villages situated around it.

Bahraini Food and Drink

All of them seem to boast about one chef or another, which is good, but for most of us we want to get down to eating.
In addition, food in Al Manámah and other Bahraini tourist resorts is not restricted to traditional Bahraini delights. Cuisine from all over the world can be found in Bahrain, including Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern, and other international tastes. Fast food chains are rising in popularity due to convenience and their family oriented style.

Shopping in Bahrain
goldsouqlogopic1There is a wide range of modern shopping complexes with imported luxury goods. Pearls are the main local specialty, used in finely wrought gold jewelry. Famous red clay pottery is available from the village of A’ali; hand-woven cloth from Bani Jamrah and textiles from Al-Jasra.
Manama is a great place for night shopping: just stroll through the labyrinthine streets behind Bab al-Bahrain to discover how locals spend their evenings bartering in the clothes, textiles and gold souks.

Bab Al Bahrain (Manama Traditional Souq)
The most breath taking view in Manama is the popular souq in the old simple structure. The souq is located in the heart of the capital, which is a vast area and the great advantage of most of the stores with some of the old design.Gold Souq,Gold Souq - specialty in Fine Jewelry.The first thing that catch the visitors’ eyes when they enter Manama Souq is the gold market where the first complex of gold in Bahrain is located in the heart of Manama on Sheikh Abdullah.. Yatama Souq (Pottery & Traditional Goods),Yatama Souq was founded orphans in 1987, and is located on Crown prince Street in Hamad Town.The activity in this souq  started by one person who was selling antiques and pottery, then Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister ordered to expand this souq, which subsequently stores start to open until 2005. Central Market,Central Market - open-air fresh produce meat, and fish.
